Veal chop: A feast for the senses
Veal chops are the Rolls-Royce of meats , if you ask us. This exquisite cut of meat is not only tender as butter, but also incredibly flavorful. Veal is generally milder in flavor than beef and takes to marinades and spices fantastically, making it the perfect choice for today's recipe. And the best part? Veal chops are super quick and easy to grill. A few minutes on each side, and you'll have a piece of veal on your plate that tastes so good you'll be licking your fingers. So, what are you waiting for? Get to the grill!
Grilled veal chop: ingredients & preparation
- 2 veal chops
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 large tomatoes
- brown sugar
- approx. 5 small waxy potatoes
- coarse sea salt
- black pepper
Here’s how :
- First, marinate the veal. Mix 2 tablespoons of olive oil, the crushed garlic clove, mustard, and chopped rosemary together and rub the meat thoroughly. Then let it marinate in the refrigerator for 2–3 hours.
- Pre-cook the potatoes for about 10 minutes. Let them cool slightly, then halve and thread them onto skewers.
- Then mix some olive oil with chopped rosemary and a crushed garlic clove.
- Grill the potato skewers for about 8–10 minutes, turning them frequently and brushing them with the rosemary and garlic oil several times, until a nice grill mark appears and the potatoes are cooked through. Finally, sprinkle them with coarse sea salt.
- Meanwhile, grill the chops on both sides for about 3-4 minutes over direct heat and then place over lower heat.
- While the meat and potatoes are roasting, halve the tomatoes, dip them cut-side down briefly in the brown sugar, and grill them cut-side down for about 1-2 minutes, then flip them briefly to the other side. Finally, season the tomatoes and meat with salt and pepper to taste.
Tip: If you love potatoes combined with butter, then add a little butter to your skewers at the end—it always works and tastes really delicious!
Enjoy your juicy, grilled veal chop and savor it!
