Tropical dessert happiness from the grill
Pineapple tastes fantastic in chunks, rings, or in fruit salads. But have you ever put it on the grill? This way, you can really bring out its unique flavor .
Cutting this tropical fruit is a headache for many people, but it doesn't have to be! While some people reach for the pre-packaged pineapple from the supermarket shelf, you can avoid plastic waste by chopping it yourself. Here's our step-by-step guide :
- Cut off the stem and the bottom of the pineapple.
- Then remove the flesh from the peel using a sharp knife along the curve.
- Now cut the pineapple into slices
- At the end, cut out the middle part with a shot glass or carefully cut it out with a knife.
Fun fact: Pineapple contains the bromelain enzyme, which breaks down proteins in the mouth when eaten and can cause a tingling or burning sensation in your mouth.
